Club career

Arias began his professional career at the Deportivo Pereira Club from his hometown. In 2005, he made his debut for the team in the Mustang Cup . On May 3, 2009, in the match against Deportes Tolima , Diego scored his first goal for Deportivo [2] . In 2010, Arias moved to Onse Caldas . On February 6, in a duel against Envigado , he made his debut for a new team [3] . In the same match, Diego scored his first goal for Onse Caldas. In his first season, Arias helped the team win the championship .

In early 2011, Diego moved to the Greek PAOK , signing a contract for a year and a half. On February 6, in his match against Panathinaikos , he made his debut in the Greek Super League , replacing Vladimir Ivich in the second half [4] . On May 25, in a duel against Olympiacos from Volos, Arias scored his first goal for PAOK [5] . Diego rarely made it, so in 2012 he left the team.

In the summer of 2012, Arias became the footballer of the Brazilian Cruzeiro . On September 29, in his match against Internacional , he made his debut in the Brazilian Serie A [6] . For the new team, Diego spent only two matches and at the beginning of 2013 returned to his homeland. His new club was Atletico Nacional . On February 3, Arias made his debut for a new team in a match against Atletico Wila [7] . On August 10, in a duel against the Petroler Alliance , he scored his first goal for Atletico Nacional [8] . In his debut season, Arias twice became the champion of the country, and also won the Colombia Cup . In 2014, Diego won the national championship for the fourth time in his career. In 2016, he won the Libertadores Cup as part of the Atletico Nacional.

International Career

On November 15, 2011, in a friendly match against Argentina, Arias made his debut for the Colombian national team , replacing Jackson Martinez in the second half [9] .
