History
In 1793, after the second division of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, Obodovtsy, like the whole of Vilechina, were part of the Russian Empire, the Vileyka Uyezd was formed, first part of the Minsk province , and from 1843 the Vilnius province [2] .
In the 19th century, Obodovtsy belonged to the Bogdanovich family. In total, seven manors belonged to the Bogdanovichi region, but they constantly lived in Obodovtsy [3] . After the suppression of the 1863 uprising, the estate was taken to the state treasury for the participation of Otton Bogdanovich in the uprising, but was subsequently returned to the Bogdanovich [4] . The manor house was erected in the last quarter of the 19th century. In addition to it, the estate included a Catholic chapel-tomb (the only fully preserved building), a distillery and several outbuildings. The central place in the layout of the estate was given to the park in the form of a rectangle surrounded by perimeter alleys [4] .
After the signing of the Riga Peace Treaty (1921), Obodovtsi became part of interwar Poland , and the border passed near the village. A border guard building was erected south of the village [3] . Since 1939 Obodovtsi as part of the BSSR .
During the Great Patriotic War, Obodovtsi were under German occupation from June 1941 to July 1944. The manor house has completely burned down. After the war, the Catholic chapel was closed and a toxic chemicals warehouse was set up in it. The abandoned building of the former border post was dismantled in the 90s of the XX century [3] . By the beginning of the 21st century, only a chapel, the ruins of a distillery, and several former outbuildings have survived from manor buildings [5] .
In 1990, the chapel was returned to the Catholic Church; until 1994, restoration was underway. The remains of the crypt in the chapel were reburied next to it. The chapel was consecrated in the name of the Mother of God and currently serves as a branch chapel of the Catholic Church of the Sacred Heart in Ilya [6]
