Biography

She graduated from the Berlin Conservatory . Since 1927 she performed in theaters of Ulm and Kassel . In 1929-1931 - at the National Theater of Mannheim. In 1931-1949 and in 1955-1961 - at the Berlin State Opera , and in 1949-1958 - on the stage of the German Opera in West Berlin. She performed in the largest opera houses in the world, and performed a lot of concerts. In 1936-1942 she was a regular participant in the Bayreuth festivals . In 1961, she left the stage and began teaching.

In 1928, she married director Walter Bültemann ( German: Walter Bültemann , 1879-1949).
