Denon Joseph Loader ( born Danyon Joseph Loader , born April 21, 1975 ) is a New Zealand swimmer, two-time Olympic champion in 1996, former world record holder and champion of the Commonwealth Games . New Zealand record holder at a distance of 400 meters freestyle in short water.

At the Olympic Games in Barcelona, he won a silver medal at a distance of 200 meters butterfly. In 1994, at the Commonwealth Games, he won a gold medal at a distance of 200 meters butterfly stroke. At the Olympic Games in Atlanta, he won two gold medals at a distance of 200 and 400 meters freestyle.
He was the world record holder in short water at a distance of 200 meters butterfly and 400 meters freestyle.
Russian swimmer Denis Pankratov in an interview in 2014 said that after the swimmer’s career, Loader, according to information from his trainer, became an underwater saboteur in the naval forces [1] .
In 2003 he was included in the World Swimming Hall of Fame .
In 2012, Loader took part in an online video campaign in support of same-sex marriage, along with New Zealand musicians Anika Moa, Holly Smith and Bo Rung, as well as New Zealand's Governor-General in 1990-1996, Dame Katherine Tizard .
