The Big Altai is a geographical territory within the Altai Mountains [1] , as well as a cooperation project for border regions of Russia , Mongolia , China and Kazakhstan [2] [3] and an international tourist and sports festival within its framework [4] .

ISS "Our Common Home Altai"
The International Coordination Council “Our Common Home - Altai” (ISS) is a permanent association of representatives of regional and legislative authorities, civil society and scientists from the border areas of the Altai Territory and the Altai Republic in Russia, Bayan-Ulgi and Khovd aimaks of Mongolia, East Kazakhstan region of Kazakhstan and Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region of China [5] [6] .
Festival
The International Tourism and Sports Festival is held every two years in the regions of the Great Altai in natural conditions (without stadiums, gyms and shells) [7] . It started in 2013 in Mongolia, in 2015, China took over the baton, in 2017 Kazakhstan should take on, and in Russia it will be held in 2019 in the Altai Territory.
The program includes competitions in pedestrian, water, equestrian, auto, motorcycle, cycle tourism, rafting, mountaineering, rock climbing, fishing sports, paragliding, orienteering, tug-of-war, national sports; cultural program [4] .
The festival is held under the auspices of the International Coordinating Council "Our Common Home - Altai" with the support of the Governor of the Altai Territory Alexander Karlin, the Governor of the Khovd Aimag G. Nyamdawa and the President of the Federation of Sport Tourism of the Altai Territory Evgeny Gorbik.
The aim of the festival is to develop an international partnership of border administrative and territorial units of Kazakhstan, China, Mongolia and Russia, members of the ISS "Our Common Home - Altai" in the field of tourism.
