Ognev" (1974, Nizhny Novgorod State Art Museum); “In the forge shop” (1983), “Microdistrict” (1974, the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation ).
The artist created his genre paintings about the Great Patriotic War and the construction of the Baikal-Amur Railway . The Bamovskaya series of paintings was the most popular in Soviet art of the 1970s. Newspapers, magazines, and critics wrote about it, noting the originality of the author’s artistic language, temperament and emotionality of paintings, in which the artist choked on stories about BAM, with unique, sincere enthusiasm showed friendship and a single impulse of people who came from all over the vast country. The canvases conveyed people's confidence that, despite all the difficulties and harsh living conditions, they are doing a great and necessary job for their country.
In 1973, an exhibition committee headed by the chairman of the Union of Artists G.M. Korzhev visited Gorky. At the suggestion of Helium Korzhev, the "Bamovskaya" series of paintings, including paintings by Zhemerikin, was sent to the republican and all-union exhibitions.
1974-1976 work on a cycle of 13 paintings “We are at BAM” - “Nadya on duty” (1976, Institute of Russian Realistic Art (IRRI), Moscow), “Kotlopunkt”, “Girls from the Main”, “Letuchka”, etc. .;
Since 1975, the author has been painting on the Great Patriotic War - “Return” (1979, the Ulyanovsk Regional Art Museum ), “Roads of War” (1975, the Department of Culture of the Government of the Nizhny Novgorod Region), “At the Native threshold” (1985 , Nizhny Novgorod State Art Museum), "Combat" (1985, the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation) and others.
Some paintings of the portrait and landscape genres of Zhemerikin are designed in the style of Soviet impressionism .
A characteristic feature of the artist was the writing of paintings of a rural genre, “combining simplicity, vitality and sincere love for his native land” (“Old Men” 1973, “Autumn Day” 1974, “Stepanida” 1979, “Summer” 1981 , “In the Village” 1982) “The artist perfectly conveyed the state of the urban environment depending on the weather, when the same motive changed before our eyes, following the best traditions of the French impressionists with their desire to capture the elusive light” (“Rainy Day”, 1973 g., "Third Mountain", 1973, etc.).
The artist’s portraits are distinguished by “integrity of images, laconicism of expressive means, precision of drawing, intelligence, high professional culture, characteristic of the artists of the Leningrad school, representatives of the“ severe style ”of Soviet realistic art” (Valya, 1972, Andryusha, 1977, "Portrait of V.P. Baturo" 1980, "Portrait of Professor M.V. Kolokoltsev" 1987, "Alena" 1994, "Innocent" 1999, etc.).
“The artist’s landscapes are free from any patterns and stereotypes. In them, the manner of Zhemerikin manifests itself most individually. The brush easily touches the canvas, designating with one precise dynamic brush stroke the tree trunk, the roof of the house. The corner of nature is seen as if by accident. But at the same time, everything is clearly built and compositionally finished. Here is the immediacy of the first impression, loyalty to the visual image and at the same time analyticity, subordination to the general plan, where the artist’s intuition goes hand in hand with professionalism. His paintings of nature are united by a characteristic landscape style, which can be recognized by the master. ”
