History

The Tyumen Regional Committee of the CPSU (b) appeared on August 14, 1944 , simultaneously with the formation of the Tyumen Region . The first secretary was appointed Fedor Chubarov . On September 2, 1944, a meeting of the bureau of the regional committee of the All-Union Communist Party (Bolsheviks) took place, at which organizational issues related to the functioning of the regional party and government bodies were mainly resolved. In particular, the issues of placement of workers of the regional committee and their families in the regional center were considered [1] . At the first regional party conference (held from February 17 to February 19, 1945 ), the structure and personnel of the regional party organization were approved. On March 18, 1948, by a resolution of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union (Bolsheviks) within the bureau of the regional committee, a party council was formed, on which appeals were entrusted. In 1952, in connection with the adoption of the new Party Charter, the Tyumen Regional Committee of the CPSU (B.) Was renamed the Regional Committee of the CPSU [2] .

In 1962, within the framework of economic and party reforms conducted by N. S. Khrushchev, the regional committee was divided into industrial and agricultural. In 1964, shortly after the removal of N. S. Khrushchev from the post of first secretary of the CPSU Central Committee , the industrial and agricultural regional committees were again merged. The head of the united regional committee was Boris Shcherbina (who had previously headed the agricultural regional committee). On December 18, 1973, Gennady Bogomyakov became the first secretary of the regional committee of the CPSU — longer than the others who headed the regional committee (until January 18, 1990 ). [3]

At the XXII regional party conference, the first secretary and composition of the regional committee bureau was elected for the first time through democratic elections. Vladimir Chertischev was elected the last head of the regional CPSU committee. On August 23, 1991, shortly after the August putsch, the activity of the Tyumen Regional Committee of the CPSU was suspended, the first secretary was removed from his post, on the evening of the same day the building of the regional committee of the CPSU was sealed, and on August 25 it was nationalized [4] his successor. November 6, 1991 on the basis of a decree of the President of the RSFSR B. N. Yeltsin Regional Committee was liquidated [5] .
