Petrov, Alexander Petrovich (politician)

Born on May 21, 1958 in the village of Plishkari, Yelovsky District, Perm Region, in a family of teachers.

In 1979 he graduated with honors from the Perm State Pedagogical Institute with a degree in Physics Teacher and in the same year he headed Kalinovskaya incomplete secondary school (v. Kalinovka, Perm Region), and from 1984 to 1987 he was the director of Yelovsky secondary school (v. Yelovo of Perm areas).

In 1987, A.P. Petrov became deputy chairman in the Komsomolsky youth housing complex in Sverdlovsk .

In 2010, Alexander Petrov was the director of the non-profit partnership “Ural Biomedical Cluster”, which produced various drugs in the Sverdlovsk region ^[2] . As of 2017, he was a member of the supervisory board of the Ural Biomedical Cluster ^[3] .

From 2001 to 2011 he was an assistant deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation on a voluntary basis. In December 2011, he was elected to the State Duma of Russia from the United Russia party ^[4] , where he became a member of the State Duma Committee on Health Protection.

In 2016, Petrov nominated his candidacy for the “United Russia” primaries for the subsequent election as a deputy to the State Duma. However, according to the results of a nationwide vote on May 22, 2016, Petrov took only 10th place ^[5] , which did not give him the opportunity to become a deputy. However, the leadership of United Russia cleared the winners. In the “cleaned” list, announced on June 27, 2016 at the XV Congress of the “United Russia”, Petrov was put in 3rd place ^[5] . Ultimately, Petrov was re-elected on the “United Russia” list as a State Duma deputy on September 18, 2016 .
