Preveli ( Greek: Πρέβελη , also referred to as Palm Beach ) is a beach and a lagoon located below the monastery of the same name , at the mouth of the Kurtaliiotiko gorge along which the Megalopotamos River flows. Because of the river, the sea water temperature in the Preveli region is slightly lower than in other areas of the island. It was named after the monastery of Preveli. Behind the beach is a vast glade of the date palms Theophrasti ( Phoenix theophrasti ). The beach is regularly served by tourist boats from the neighboring resort of Placias ( Πλακιάς ).

The "company" sign of the beach (in addition to the main - palm forest) is a lonely rock in the sea in the form of a heart.
On August 22, 2010, most of the palm grove was destroyed by a fire, but already in 2011 it was quickly and naturally regenerated. In the seasons 2011-2012, access to the grove was partially closed, but the beach itself was accessible.
There is no entrance directly to the beach, you have to go down to it.
