Chenggun ( wh. 区 ) is a district of the Kunming City District of Yunnan Province . It is a suburb of Kunming within the boundaries of the city district of the same name and the main zone of development of the city.

In 2003, the active development of the infrastructure of Chenggun for the establishment of an economic and university center began, but over time it became one of the largest ghost cities in Asia [1] . Here are located the new building of the city administration, the Chenggong industrial park, the Dounan flower market, the new campuses of the Yunnan and Yunnan Universities Normal.

Geography
The district is located in the central part of the city district and borders on the region of Guandu in the north, the counties of Ilian and Chengjiang [2] - in the east, and the county of Jingning - in the south. Located on the western shore of Lake Dianchi , the largest in the urban district and province. On the border of Chenggun and Ilyan is located Yangsonhai Lake.
It consists of seven Longcheng, Luoyang, Dongan, Dayu, Wujiain, Majinpu and Tsydyan volosts.
