Batyrbek Aslanbekovich Tuganov ( Osset. Batyrbeg Tuganty , July 4, 1866 , village Dur-Dur - June 19, 1921 ) - Ossetian social revolutionary figure, writer, translator and playwright.

Biography
Born on July 4, 1866 in the Ossetian family in the village of Dur-Dur. In 1880 he entered the Vladikavkaz school of grammar, after which from 1884 he studied at the Stavropol gymnasium. Leaving his studies in 1886, he returned to his native village. After some time, he moved to Vladikavkaz, where he met Kosta Khetagurov . In Vladikavkaz studied legal law. Having received the title of private attorney in civil matters, he became involved in legal practice. As a lawyer, wrote his first work story "Hanif."
Participated in the revolutionary movement. Together with Chermen Baev and Elbyzdyko Britaev, he was engaged in agitation among the soldiers of the Ossetian garrison in Vladikakaz. He translated into the Ossetian language the Manifesto of the Communist Party by Karl Marx . In 1904 he wrote the play "Parallels" . In 1907 he was nominated as a delegate to the deputies of the Second State Duma. He was convicted for his revolutionary activities. After serving his sentence, he moved to Moscow in 1907.
In 1913 he published the story "Batanoko Thembot" in Moscow. Since 1918 - an employee of the people's commissariat for national affairs and since 1921 - head of horse breeding in Dagestan.
He died on June 19, 1921 from cholera in Dagestan.
In 1963, a posthumous collection of essays "Stories, Dramatic Works" was published in the North Ossetian Book Publishing House.
