About the album
Lee announced the upcoming release of a collection of music for the film on her Twitter in December 2013 [2] . In an interview with MTV News in January 2014, she said that the new material “will surprise” her fans, explaining: “This is not what you might expect ... it is a mixture of many sounds, many ominous tones. I play keyboards and a Taurus synthesizer. There is plenty of low rumble there ” [3] .
Critics' ratings
George Garner from Kerrang! praised the efforts of Lee, gone from the severity of Evanescence . In his opinion, the album combines minimalist piano sounds with the gloom of strings; he called the album the best demonstration of Lee’s voice and talent at that time [4] .
