Biography

In 1922 he became one of the founders of the "Society of Young Musicians of Georgia". In 1928 he graduated from the Tiflis Conservatory in the class of Professor Sergey Barhudaryan (composition). He performed as a concert violinist. In 1928–1933 - one of the founders, teacher and director of the School of Music in Batumi. In the years 1934-1938 - art director and conductor of the choral ensemble of the radio Tbilisi. In 1938-1939, he was artistic director of the Ensemble of Red Army Songs and Dances of the Transcaucasian Military District . Since 1952 - Conductor of the State Capella of the Georgian SSR. Since 1937 - lecturer at the Tbilisi Conservatory (since 1941, professor); in 1937–1939, he led the opera class, and since 1951, conducted the opera studio at the Conservatory. He wrote romances; engaged in the processing of folk songs.

He was buried in the Didube pantheon .
