The Brest Red Banner Border Group named after Felix Edmundovich Dzerzhinsky is a military-administrative unit ( border detachment ) of the border troops of the KGB of the USSR , and then the Border Committee of the Republic of Belarus.

History
By a decree of the Council of People's Commissars of the USSR on May 28, 1918, the Border Guard of the RSFSR was established.
May 1, 1944 - the birthday of the unit. On August 15, 1944, a border detachment arrived in Brest and proceeded to guard the state border.
On September 11, 1944, on behalf of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR, the unit was awarded the Battle Banner.
On August 2, 1946, by order of the Minister of Internal Affairs of the USSR No. 307, the name of Alexander Abramovich Zavidov was assigned to the 9th outpost of the 15th border detachment (since 1947, the section of the disbanded 15th border detachment was transferred to the protection of the Brest detachment. Today, the 15th border outpost is named after Alexander Abramovich Zavidov) .
On September 19, 1967, the Brest border detachment was awarded the honorary title “The Name of Felix Edmundovich Dzerzhinsky” for high performance in service, combat and political training.
On October 20, 1967, for the merits in the defense of the Soviet Motherland and the achieved high results in combat and political training in honor of the 50th anniversary of the Great October Socialist Revolution of the Central Committee of the CPSU, the Presidium of the Supreme Council and the Council of Ministers of the USSR awarded the Brest border detachment with the Memorial Banner and left it for eternal storage as a symbol of military valor and glory.
On March 12, 1968, by the Decree of the Council of Ministers of the BSSR, the 2nd Border Outpost of the Brest Border Detachment was named after Grigory Ilyich Kofanov.
On May 6, 1968, a Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR on the rewarding of Junior Sergeant Aleksei Aleksandrovich Novikov with the Order of the Patriotic War of the 1st degree (posthumous) was published. On May 27, 1968, a Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR on the rewarding of Corporal Alexander Abramovich Zavidov with the Order of the Patriotic War of the 1st degree (posthumous) was published.
On May 31, 1968, by the Decree of the Council of Ministers of the BSSR, the frontier post “Domachevo” of the Brest border detachment was named after the hero-border guard Alexei Alexandrovich Novikov.
On April 30, 1975, by Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR for services to the armed defense of the socialist Motherland, success in securing the USSR’s border, and in connection with the 30th anniversary of the Victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War, the Brest border detachment was awarded the Order of the Red Banner.
On December 14, 1994, the first President of the Republic of Belarus, Alexander G. Lukashenko, visited the Brest Red Banner Border Detachment named after F. Dzerzhinsky. Based on the Decree of the President of the Republic of Belarus No. 419 dated July 31, 1997 “On Measures to Strengthen the State Border of the Republic of Belarus” and the order of the Chairman of the State Committee of the Border Troops of the Republic of Belarus No. 079 dated September 29, 1997, the Red Banner Frontier Detachment named after F. Dzerzhinsky and Detachment “Brest” border control was reorganized into the Red Banner Border Group named after F.E. Dzerzhinsky with a place of deployment in Brest.
