Sleeve branching

Sleeve branching is an element of fire fighting equipment for distributing the flow of water from the main to the working lines. By the number of output branching pipes, there are three-, four-, less often - two-way ones. As a rule, a trunk line is laid from the fire truck pump. A branching is connected to it near the fire source, and working lines are laid from it to the trunks or foam generators . This allows you to adjust the amount of water entering the production line, and to block the flow when building the line.

Interesting Facts

  • There have been cases of using a branching, which is reversed, as a catchment
  • For the characteristic shape, the three-way branching received the slang term “cancer” or “crab” among firefighters
