Biography

Born December 25, 1897 in St. Petersburg in a family of employees.

He graduated from the Petrograd Mining Institute (1921). He worked in the Geological Department for the search for non-metallic materials.

In 1933, in the course “Molding Materials Course”, he proposed a classification of properties that determine the quality of molding materials, and a method for assessing the thermal conditions of foundry molds and castings, and he classified casting defects.

In March 1941 he defended his thesis for the degree of Doctor of Technical Sciences on the topic "Basic theory of permeability of molding materials" [1] .

In 1945-1948 he worked as the head of the foundry department of TsNIITMASH, at the same time taught at MAMI at the department "Machines and technology of foundry production", taught courses "Molding materials" and "Quality control of castings".

From 1948 to 1974 the head. Department of "Technology of metals" MADI. Created a molding sand research laboratory at the institute. in 1967 to the department at the invitation of P.P. Berga came his pupil, candidate of technical sciences Alexander Petrovich Panov [2] . From 1971 to 1974, the future rector of MADI (2001—2016) V.M. studied at the MADI graduate school at the Department of Metal Technology Prikhodko , who defended his dissertation in 1975 for the degree of candidate of technical sciences under the guidance of A.P. Panova [3] .

In the 1950s, at the invitation of the leadership of the Saratov Automobile and Road Institute, he lectured on advanced foundry technology [4] .

Honored Worker of Science and Technology of the RSFSR . Awarded with medals.

He died in 1974. He was buried at the Vvedensky cemetery in Moscow.
