Hutsulsky harmony - the harmony characteristic of the musical folklore of a number of European peoples , in particular, the folk music of Western Ukraine (first of all, the Hutsul folklore), with which the name is connected. In Russian musicology, the term "Hutsul mode" is not commonly used [1] .
The Hutsul mode is based on a minor one , but differs in elevated fourth (as in the gypsy scale ) and sixth (as in Dorian ) steps [2] :
Hutsul fret from notes to.
Close to the Hutsul is the Goralian mode (this term is also not commonly used).
Hutsul harmony can be considered as the inversion of a harmonic minor from the 4th step. Example: Harmonic salt = Pre-Hutsul.
