Baron Sanderson of Iyot

Baron Sanderson of Iyot from Welvin in Hertfordshire is a hereditary title in the United Kingdom Peer system [1] . It was created July 4, 1960 for the British entrepreneur and civil servant Basil Sanderson (1894-1971). He was the son of ship tycoon Harold Arthur Sanderson, general manager of White Star Line shipping company. In 1971, after the death of Lord Sanderson, the title was inherited by his elder twin son Alan Lindsay Sanderson (born 1931). However, he denies his peers title [2] .

  • 1960-1971: Basil Sanderson, 1st Baron Sanderson of Iyot (June 19, 1894 - August 15, 1971), the youngest son of the Honorable Harold Arthur Sanderson (1859-1932)
  • 1971 - present: Alan Lindsay Sanderson, 2nd Baron Sanderson of Iyot (born January 12, 1931), the eldest son of the previous one, denies his peer title.
    • Heir to the title: Michael Sanderson (born December 6, 1959), the eldest son of the previous one.
