Content
History
For the first time it is mentioned in the Scribal Book of Vodskaya Pyatina in the year 1500, as the village of Man in Nikolsky Butkovsky graveyard of Novgorod district [2] .
The village of Man is marked on the map of the St. Petersburg province of 1792, by A. M. Wilbrecht [3] .
On the map of the St. Petersburg province of F. F. Schubert in 1834, it is referred to as the village of Cholova [4] .
CHOLOVO - a village, belongs to the Oranienbaum Palace Board, the number of inhabitants according to audit: 41 m. P., 40 g. paragraph [5] (1838)
As a village of Polovo, it is marked on the map of Professor S. Kutorgi in 1852 [6] .
CHOLOVO - the village of the Palace government, along a country road, the number of yards is 14, the number of souls is 42 m. P. [7] (1856)
HUMAN - a village, the number of residents on the X-th audit in 1857: 51 m. P., 55 w. p. [8]
CHOLOVO - the palace village at the Cheremenka River, the number of courtyards - 17, the number of inhabitants: 48 m. P., 55. p. [9] (1862)
HUMAN - the village, according to the household records of 1882: 37 houses, 46 shower allotments, families - 23, the number of inhabitants - 54 m. P., 60. P.; the rank of peasants - temporarily obliged [8]
In 1883-1884, the temporarily responsible peasants of the village bought their land plots from Grand Duchess Ekaterina Mikhailovna and became owners of the land [10] .
At the end of the 19th – beginning of the 20th century, the village was administratively related to the Butkovsky volost of the 1st district of the 1st camp of the Luga district of the St. Petersburg province.
According to the "Memorial Book of the St. Petersburg Province" for 1905, the village of Man was a member of the Human Rural Society [11] .

According to the map from the “Historical Atlas of St. Petersburg Province” of 1915, the village was called Cholova [12] .
From 1917 to 1924, the village of Cholovo was part of the Cholovsky village council of the Butkovsky volost of the Luga district.
Since 1924, as part of the Panteleevsky Village Council.
Since 1927, as part of the Oredezh district .
Since 1928, in the Cheremenskogo Village Council. In 1928, the population of the village of Cholovo was 130 people [13] .
According to the data of 1933, the village was called Khudo and was part of the Cheremensky Village Council of the Oredezhsky District [14] .
From August 1, 1941 to January 31, 1944, the village was under occupation.
Since 1959, as part of the Luga region.
In 1965, the population of the village of Cholovo was 413 people [13] .
According to the data of 1966, the village of Cholovo was also a part of the Cheremenskiy Village Council of the Luga District [15]
According to the data of 1973, the village of Cholovo was part of the Cholovsky village council [16] .
According to the 1990 data, the village of Cholovo was part of the Priozernoe Village Council [17] .
In 1997, 8 people lived in the village of Cholovo, Priozernaya volost, in 2002 - 4 people (75% Russians) [18] [19] .
In 2007, 5 people lived in the village of Cholovo Yam-Tesovsky SP, in 2010 - 2 [20] [21] .
Geography
The village is located in the eastern part of the district on the 41K-662 road ( Oredezh - Tesovo-4 - Cholovo ).
The distance to the administrative center of the settlement is 28 km [20] .
The distance to the nearest train station Cholovo is 1.5 km [15] .
The Cheremenka River flows through the village.
