Clint Howard ( born Clint Howard ) is an American actor. The younger brother of director Ron Howard . Best known for his roles in the films Mamenkin son and Apollo 13 , as well as his role in the series Gentle Ben when he was a child.

Early life

Clint Howard was born on April 20, 1959 in Burbank , California . He was the youngest son in the family of actors Rans Howard [4] [5] and Gene Spigle Howard [6] [7] .

Career

Television

Howard began his career when he was two years old, appearing in five episodes of the Andy Griffith Show , and then starring with his older brother Ron. He played Leon, a child in a cowboy costume who wandered around Mayberry and silently offered people a piece of his sandwich, to which they replied: “No, thanks, Leon” [8] . Other notable roles were in the series San Francisco Streets in the episode entitled Hyde Street House ; and also on The Virginian as Tommy, the happy owner of puppies in an episode called Melanie .

In 1963, he appeared in an ABC medical drama titled Breaking Point as the four-year-old Mikey in the episode " Wildebeest Now Nearly Extinct . " He also played little Billy Taft, the nephew of Dr. Richard Kimble, in the first episode of the Fugitive series, entitled “The House Is a Hunter” ( 1964 ).

His first notable role was the role in the series Tender Ben (1967–69). Music

In 1981, Howard founded The Kempsters, a new wave rock and roll band that mainly consisted of his friends who were his neighbors on Kemp Street. In 1982, their drummer Mike "Spooner" Bauer, was replaced by Tony Rodriguez. The group regularly played in the famous Esther Wong restaurant. The group retired in 1983 . Although The Kempsters never released more than one album, Howard began distributing a four-track CD called No Brains At All. They were recorded by a group in different studios. Also on the disc were seven tracks recorded live on October 17, 1982 at Madame Wong's (the old name of the restaurant).

Personal life

Awards and nominations

In 1998, he was awarded the MTV Movie Award for his lifelong contribution to cinema.
