The Red Book of the Komi Republic ( Komi Komi Republican Garb Nebug ) is an official document containing a set of information on the status, distribution and protection measures of rare and endangered species (plants, animals and other organisms living (growing) on the territory Republic of Komi in vivo [1] .

Editions
The first edition was published in 1998 and included 611 species of plants, fungi and animals (including 240 - vascular plants, 154 - bryophytes, 32 - mushrooms, 78 - lichens, 53 - invertebrates, 5 - fish, 1 - amphibian, 3 - reptiles, 34 - birds and 11 - mammals) [2] .
The second edition was published in 2009 and includes 535 species of plants, mushrooms and animals (including 236 - vascular plants, 71 - bryophytes, 4 - algae, 42 - mushrooms, 82 - lichens, 54 - invertebrates, 6 - fish, 2 - amphibians, 33 - birds and 5 - mammals) [3] .
The criteria and categories of the status of the rarity of species correspond to those adopted in the Red Book of the Russian Federation :
- 0 - probably disappeared;
- 1 - endangered;
- 2 - decreasing in numbers;
- 3 - rare;
- 4 - uncertain by status;
- 5 - restored and recovering.
