In 1921, his father was stabbed with a saber by Cossacks from the detachment of Baron Ungern [3] . The family fled to Irkutsk , where the future writer graduated from high school.

In 1935 he entered and graduated with honors from the Tomsk Polytechnic Institute (TPU) with a degree in mechanical engineering of internal combustion engines.

In 1940 he arrived by distribution in Khabarovsk , worked as a foreman at the Khabarovsk Shipyard named after Kirov (now OJSC Oston Plant named after S. M. Kirov) [4] . In 1941, he worked as the head of the diesel workshop [5] . During World War II received a reservation.

Says the writer’s son, Sergei Alexandrovsky :

“Throughout the war, he collected German diesel engines, which were removed from the captured Nazi ships and brought to the plant almost in the form of scrap. Father made the drawings, the team turned out the missing parts, then there was fitting, assembly and testing. It turned out to be a practically new diesel engine ” [6] .

In 1947 he was elected secretary of the party bureau of the plant.

In 1948, he was the 1st secretary of the Stalin (Industrial) District Party Committee. In 1951 - 2nd Secretary of the Khabarovsk City Party Committee for Industry.

Recalls the son :

“Dad did not like party work. He said: “Sometimes she’s kind of stupid.” And in 1986 he was even sharper. He repeated: "This system will collapse, and there will be a multi-party system." He was an excellent engineer. He wanted to be a designer of engines, and the party ordered him to be the head of a writing organization ... ”

Since 1955, he headed (executive secretary) the Khabarovsk branch of the Union of Writers of the RSFSR [7] and led it for more than 30 years - until his death.

In 1965, at the second congress of writers of the RSFSR, he was elected a member of the board, was a member of the editorial board of the journal "Far East". He conducted great public work as a member of the regional committee of the CPSU and deputy of the regional council. With his direct participation, independent writing organizations were created in all areas and territories of the Far East [8] .

In the spring of 1987 ( perestroika time) a meeting of writers took place in Khabarovsk, they began to make a noise: “Why does a writer with ten books manage all writers?” [9] Vyacheslav Sukachev (Springer), Alexander Mishkin, Sergey Kucherenko picked up criticism. And only poet Mikhail Aslamov stood up for Aleksandrovsky (from 1987 to 2018 - Chairman of the Board of the Khabarovsk Regional Branch of the Union of Writers of Russia) [6] .

Aleksandrovsky tragically died on March 24, 1987 in Khabarovsk [10] . He was buried in the Central cemetery of Khabarovsk, in the avenue of writers (sector No. 1) [11] .

Interesting Facts

Commander of the Southern Front Rodion Malinovsky praised the trouble-free operation of German marine diesel engines of the brand Man , which were assembled in Khabarovsk and put on cruisers of the Black Sea Fleet . He asked: “Who made them?” They said to him: “Master of Alexandrovsky.” Already in peacetime, Rodion Malinovsky was appointed commander of the Far East Military District troops; he spotted Aleksandrovsky in Khabarovsk. Marshall asked the engineer: "Viktor Nikolaevich, what do you want?" Aleksandrovsky then lived with his family in the House of Specialists [14] in a two-room apartment. He replied: “We need silence to write ...” And Malinovsky gave him a chic apartment on the street. Istomina, 44 (the house is under the control of the Far Eastern Railway ) [6] .

From the writer's memoirs:

In the country, he made friends with writer Alexander Matveevich Grachev . He taught me how to fish: throw charms, catch crucians. Grachev is my second father. I also remember how Andrei Passar taught me to eat raw catfish with salt. I still can’t convey this taste. Nightmare!

He was friends with the head of the Amur Shipping Company, Lieutenant General Zinovy Georgievich Zakhvatov. They often traveled around the Amur.

Victor Alexandrovsky wrote the last play this way: he took a leave of absence, bought a boat and went by special permission to the Kazakevichevo duct to watch the border guards serve. The boat broke, it began to be carried to the border. Soviet writer nearly sailed to China! But Viktor Nikolaevich was not in vain a mechanical engineer. He repaired the engine on the water, started it and went to the Soviet coast.
