Konashkov Fedor Andreevich (1860-1941) - Russian narrator. Member of the Union of Writers of the USSR (1938) [1] .

Biography

Born in the village of Semenovo, Pudozh district. By origin a peasant. He was engaged in logging for Olonets merchants, led a peasant farm [2]

Hereditary narrator (the epics were composed by his grandfather Stepan Ivanovich and uncle Vasily Stepanovich) [3] .

The first time epics from Konashkov were recorded in 1893.

In 1928, members of the expedition of B. M. Sokolov recorded 19 epics from him, in addition, epics and tales were recorded by subsequent folklore expeditions

The participant of the Decade of Karelian art in Leningrad in 1937, the 1st All-Karelian conference of storytellers in Petrozavodsk in 1939.

In the village of Semenovo, folklore holidays "Memory of the Storyteller F. Konashkov" are held [4] .

Creativity

The best of epics by F. A. Konashkov are recognized as “Sadko”, “Ilya Muromets and Goals Kabatsky”, “Dobrynya and Zmey” and “Mikhailo Potyk”, other epics about Russian heroes. His version of the tale of Yersh Yershovich is widely known [5] . F.A. Konashkov also created a number of novelties about the Red Army and the life of Soviet people.
