Simbar Shihu

Simbar-Shihu (Simbar-šīhu, Simbar-šīpak) - king of Babylonia , ruled around 1025-1008 BC. e. Founder of the V Babylonian Dynasty (II Dynasty of the Land of the Sea) .

Perhaps his name should be read as - Shamash-Shipak ( lit. “My sun (god) Shipak” ). The last king, bearing the Kassite name.

The inscription of the later Babylonian king Naboo apla-iddin , regarding the restoration of the Shamash temple in Sippar , in the introductory part mentions troubled times during the reign of Simbar Shihu: “Sutii ( Aramaeans ), hostile evil people, ravaged Ebarra (the temple during the ravages of Akkad) Shamasha), which in Sippar, destroyed his statue. The law of Shamash was forgotten, his image disappeared. " Simbar Shihu was going to visit this temple, but did not find it.
