Marduk-hatik-zeri, who succeeded Marduk-nadin-akhhe on the throne, ruled for 13 years and, judging by the title, retained a certain part of the former greatness of his predecessors or, in any case, laid claim to it. It cannot be said whether he belonged to the dynasty of his immediate predecessors. Apparently, the most friendly relations were established with Assyria. In Sippar, the king met with the Assyrian king Ashur-bel-kala and made an alliance with him against the Aramaeans . The country continued to invade and settle in it more and more hordes of Aramaeans. In the end, the Babylonian throne was captured by one of the Aramaic "princes", Adad apla iddin.
Marduk Shapik Zeri ruled 13 years.
