Akhundov Ramiz Habib oglu - Azerbaijani film director. Born on January 25, 1937 in Baku. In 1960, he graduated from the acting department of the Mirzaag Aliyev State Theater Institute (now the University of Culture and Art) and began working at the State Committee on Television and Radio Broadcasting. In 1964-1965 was appointed chief director of the Puppet Theater. In 1965 he returned to television and until 1993 he worked at the Azgosteleradiocommittee, where he began as an assistant director and rose to the rank of director of the highest category. Ramiz Akhundov was one of the founders and first directors of the “Screen” association of television films created in the State Committee. Author of over 25 films screened on local and central television. Among them are “Walking and crosses the sea” (1962), “The border is on the castle” (1962), “People of my republic” (1964), “This is Sattar Bahlulzade” (1969, the first color film on Azerbaijani television), “Zibeyd’s grandmother ”(1970),“ Baku Archipelago ”(1971),“ Ordubad Gardens ”(1972),“ Hands and Colors ”(1974),“ Roads of Excellence ”(1974),“ Sarsang ”(1975),“ Caspian Atlantis ”( 1975), “Starts” (1977), “Baku-Arkhangelsk” (1980), “Return” (1988), “Reflections” (1990) and others. In connection with a serious illness, he left the profession in the mid-1990s. He died on December 26, 2015 in Baku.
