Federal Reserve Bank Ticket

Federal Reserve Bank Note Tickets are a type of US banknote issued between 1915 and 1934 . Tickets were legal tender along with tickets from the United States , tickets from national banks , federal reserve tickets , silver certificates, and gold certificates that were in circulation at the time [1] . The difference between a federal reserve bank ticket and a federal reserve ticket was that the former were issued individually by each of the 12 federal reserve banks , while the issuance of the latter was centralized. Ticket issuance has now been discontinued since federal reserve tickets have been the only type of banknote issued in the United States since 1971 .

For the first time, tickets of the Federal Reserve Bank of large size were issued in 1915 in denominations of $ 5, $ 10 and $ 20. Their feature was the decoration, combining the graphics of both tickets of national banks and federal reserve tickets. In 1918, tickets with denominations of $ 1, $ 2 and $ 50 were additionally issued.

In the midst of the great depression , the US population had a serious need for cash , because many banks lost their savings due to bankruptcy. Issuing tickets by national banks was not enough. In this regard, emergency measures were taken to additionally print tickets of small federal reserve banks. Their release lasted from 1933 to 1934 [2] . Printing was carried out on the same paper as for the tickets of national banks. For the latter, in the lower right was provided the seal of the signature of the president of the bank with the corresponding explanation “President” ( eng. President ). Since the Federal Reserve Banks were run by “managers” ( English Governor ), to issue small tickets, I had to make a seal of the inscription President , and to the left indicate Governor [2] . In addition, an additional inscription “... or by investing in other securities” ( eng. Or by like deposit of other securities ) was made after the phrase “ Secured by United States bonds deposited by the Treasurer of the United States of America” ( Eng. Secured by United States bonds deposited with the Treasurer of the United States of America ) [3] . Otherwise, the design was very similar - in particular, the brown cans of the banks and the serial number.

Tickets were printed in denominations from $ 5 to $ 100. The codes of 12 regions first appeared on them, their seizure began in 1945 .
