paste

paste (from the English. paste - insert) - a Unix command designed to insert columns. The program considers the files as vertical columns, connects them and outputs them to standard output.

Syntax

paste [-s] [-d delimiter] file

  • [-s] - changes the position of rows with columns;
  • [-d delimiter] - changes the delimiter to the specified one (default is TAB).
