Wenckel ( fr. Winkel ) is a commune in the northeast of France in the Grand Est region [1] (former Alsace - Champagne - Ardenne - Lorraine ), department of the Upper Rhine , Altkirch district , Altkirch canton [2] . Until March 2015, the commune was administratively part of the abolished canton of Ferret ( Altkirsh County).

Economics
In 2010, out of 214 people of working age (from 15 to 64 years), 164 were economically active , 50 inactive (activity indicator 76.6%, in 1999 - 68.6%). Of the 164 active able-bodied residents, 151 people worked (84 men and 67 women), 13 were unemployed (5 men and 8 women). Among the 50 able-bodied inactive citizens, 14 were pupils or students , 14 - pensioners , and another 22 - were inactive due to other reasons [8] [9] .
Throughout 2011, there were 151 taxable households in the commune , in which 335 people lived. In this case, the median income amounted to 24930 euros per taxpayer [10] .
