History
Opened in 1995 on the basis of the Voronezh Regional Institute for Advanced Studies and Retraining of Educators (VOIPKiPRO) as a museum of the history of public education in the Voronezh Region. Organizer, author of the concept and first director Yu. V. Pylnev (deserved. Cultural worker of the Russian Federation, candidate of historical sciences). In 1996, on the basis of the museum, a state educational institution “Voronezh Regional Center (Museum) of the History of Public Education” was created. In 2010, the center, as a state institution, was abolished, and the museum again became known as the Museum of the History of Public Education in the Voronezh Region under the VOIPKPRO. In 2016, it was renamed the Museum of the History of Education Development in the Voronezh Region. The museum is an educational, research, cultural and educational structural unit of the Voronezh Institute of Educational Development (WIRO), studies, preserves and scientifically substantiates the monuments of material and spiritual culture associated with the history of education, pedagogical and school education of the Voronezh region and Russia.
The exhibition is located in six rooms with a total area of 400 square meters. and has more than 2000, mostly authentic, exhibits. Here is the history of the Voronezh school (end of the XVII - beginning of the XXI century) and pedagogical education (XIX — XX centuries). The museum has a rich collection of school life items, apprenticeship, pioneer, military schools and other uniforms, textbooks, devices, documents, photographs. On the basis of the expositions and stock collections, massive scientific and educational work is carried out, and methodological and practical assistance is provided to the heads of school museums in the Voronezh Region.
