History
It was formed as a result of the unification of the Christian Democratic Appeal Working Group “Not with One Bread,” dissatisfied with the party’s too conservative course, with the Evangelical Progressive People’s Party, created by a group of progressively -minded members of the Anti-Revolutionary Party . She opposed atomic weapons , for the Netherlands to withdraw from NATO , the introduction of a mandatory maximum income of five minimum wages , the closure of nuclear power plants , the pursuit of "justice, peace and solidarity", the legalization of homosexuality and euthanasia .
In the 1982 election, she won 1 seat in parliament, which was taken by Katie Ubels Veen. However, the party was split between centrists who were oriented toward cooperation with the Labor Party and the Christian Democratic Party, and leftists , who were also close to the Christian Socialist Political Party of Radicals, as well as its allies - the Pacifist Socialist Party and the Communist Party of the Netherlands .
After the failure in the 1986 election, the party formed the Green Left coalition, together with the Communist Party of the Netherlands, the Pacifist Socialist Party and the Political Party of Radicals, on the basis of which the eponymous party was formed in 1990. In March 1991, the Evangelical People's Party officially joined the new structure, forming the Christian-social faction "Left Cheek" ( Dutch. De Linker Wang ), whose influence, however, has now come to naught.
