Biography
Born in Leningrad in 1960. He graduated from the Leningrad Financial and Economic Institute. N. A. Voznesensky in 1982; in 1989 - University of Vermont, Business School (USA) ; and in 1992 - the International School of Bankers in Brussels.
He was one of the organizers of the Leningrad Center NTTM (scientific and technical creativity of youth "Astron" under the Executive Committee of the District Council of the Vyborg District.
1994-1998 - General Director of Smena Publishing House JSC . Since February 1998, Yuri Dzhanovich Derevyanko was elected Chairman of the Board of Directors of Smena Publishing House JSC.
Yu. D. Derevyanko is one of the organizers of the Astrobank commercial bank in 1990. For several years, Derevyanko Yu. D. was vice president of the bank. Since March 1995, he became president of the bank.
In 1990-1993 Yuri Dzhanovich was elected as a deputy of the Leningrad (St. Petersburg) city Council , where he worked as a member of the standing commission on economic reform. During this period, Yu. D. Derevyanko took an active part in the development and implementation of regulatory documents related to the reorganization of banking activities in the city. He, as part of a creative team, developed the Northern Gate program, [1] the main provisions of which were taken into account by the city government when developing a plan for the socio-economic development of the region.
From 1994 to 1996 He was a member of the political council of the St. Petersburg Regional Organization of the Democratic Choice of Russia Party.
Yuri Dzhanovich Derevyanko, along with partner and like-minded politician, banker and philanthropist Kirill Vladimirovich Smirnov, was the initiator of the creation of the International Banking Institute [2] Yuri Dzhanovich was directly involved in the formation of the faculty of the institute and planning its development strategy. In addition, Yuri Dzhanovich, made great efforts to develop the methodological educational base of the MBI and electronic library.
From 2000 to 2005, Yu. D. Derevyanko worked at the MBI as director of the Center for Attracting Investments. In order to improve qualifications, he completed a training course at London and Brussels business schools.
In March 2005, after the death of the first rector and deputy minister of finance, Veniaminov Viktor Nikolaevich, Yuri Dzhanovich Derevyanko was elected rector of the International Banking Institute.
In September 2005, he was elected President of the Association of Non-State Higher Educational Institutions of the North-West Federal District.
In July 2007, he was elected a member of the Royal Chartered Quality Institute (CQI) London, UK).
In 2007, he ran for the elections of deputies of the Legislative Assembly of St. Petersburg of the fourth convocation [3]
He was a member of the Presidium of the Council of Rectors of St. Petersburg universities and a member of the Presidium of the St. Petersburg branch of the International Academy of Higher Education Sciences.
His plans included the construction of a new MBI building [4] , a project and the search for investments for which he was actively involved.

He wrote and defended his thesis on the topic: "Assessing the competitiveness of institutions of higher education in the strategic management system" [8] Received the title of candidate of economic sciences.
