Cotoneaster Alaunsky ( lat. Cotoneaster alaunicus ) - a species of plants of the genus Cotoneaster ( Cotoneaster ) of the family Pink ( Rosaceae ).

The species is named after the place of growth: on the Central Russian Upland ( Alaunia ) [2] .
Content
A sprawling, branched shrub up to 1.5 m high. Young shoots are friable-pubescent, later bare, green or red-brown. Leaves are 30-45 cm long, oblong-elliptical or ovoid, whole-edged, green above, scattered-hairy, whitish below, felt-pubescent. The flowers are bisexual, regular, five-membered, 4-5 mm in diameter, white or light pink, collected 4-7 in drooping brushes. Flower tube (hypanthium) naked. Ripe berries are berry-shaped, black with a bluish bloom, 6-9 mm in diameter, with two seeds and powdery flesh.
Eurasian species, common in Scandinavia, Central and Eastern Europe, the Mediterranean, the Caucasus, Western and Eastern Siberia, the Far East, Central Asia, Mongolia and Northeast China. In Belarus, it is located in isolated localities within its range. It is noted in Braslav, Verkhnedvinsk, Glubokoe, Gorodok and Myadel districts.
The species is included in the Red Book of Russia [3] and in the regional Red Books in the following subjects of Russia: Belgorod, Volgograd, Voronezh, Kursk, Lipetsk, Moscow, Oryol, Rostov, Ryazan, Samara, Tula regions.
