Jurbes ( fr. Urbès ) is a commune in the northeast of France in the Grand Est region ^[1] (former Alsace - Champagne - Ardennes - Lorraine ), department of the Upper Rhine , district of Tan - Gebwiller , canton of Serne ^[2] . Until March 2015, the commune was administratively part of the abolished canton of Saint-Amarén ( Tan County).

The area of the commune is 12.68 km², the population is 487 people ^[3] ^[4] (2006) with a downward trend: 450 people ^[5] (2012), the population density is 35.5 people / km².

The population of the commune in 2011 was 457 people ^[6] , and in 2012 - 450 people ^[5] .

Economics

In 2010, out of 279 people of working age (from 15 to 64 years old), 205 were economically active , 74 were inactive (activity indicator 73.5%, in 1999 - 73.8%). Out of 205 active able-bodied residents, 186 people worked (104 men and 82 women), 19 were unemployed (6 men and 13 women). Among 74 able-bodied inactive citizens, 15 were pupils or students , 42 were pensioners , and another 17 were inactive for other reasons ^[8] ^[9] .
