“ Kin-san, Gin-san ” ( Japanese き ん さ ん ぎ ん さ ん ) are twin sisters from Japan who gained popularity due to their longevity. The full names of the sisters are Kin Narita ( Japanese 成 田 き ん Narita Kin , August 1, 1892 - January 23, 2000) and Gin Kanie ( Japanese 蟹 江 ぎ ん Kanie Gin , August 1, 1892 - February 28, 2001) . The maiden name of the sisters is Yano ( 矢野 ) , and the names literally mean “gold” and “silver”. Good health and cheerfulness in old age made Keen and Gin famous throughout the country.
Biography
The twins were born on August 1, 1892 (in the 25th year of the Meiji period ) in the village of Narumi (currently the administrative district of Midori-ku, Nagoya ), Aichi Prefecture . Kin was the eldest daughter, and Gin was the youngest. Further studies showed that they were homozygous twins , although their blood types were different.
In 1991, upon reaching 100 years, the twins were mentioned in a newspaper article and received congratulations from the mayor of Nagoya and the governor of the prefecture. In 1992, Kin and Gin made their debut with the rap album “Gin-chan and Kin-chan” ( き ん ち ゃ ん と ぎ ん ち ゃ ん ) , which hit the Japanese charts. Kin and Gin participated in several appearances on National Television of Japan. Keen and Gin participated in the NHK Today's Close-Up documentary.
In 2000, at the age of 107, the eldest of the twins, Kin Narita, dies. The cause of death was heart failure , which confirmed the autopsy . A year later, in 2001, at the age of 108, the younger sister Gin also dies. The cause of death could not be determined, officially death came from old age .
One of the sisters had four daughters, who also became long-livers. The sisters also took part in life expectancy studies. At the time of Keen's death in 2000, the twins had a total of six children, eleven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson.
