Stenbach ( fr. Steinbach ) - a commune in the north-east of France in the Grand Est region ^[1] (former Alsace - Champagne - Ardennes - Lorraine ), department of the Upper Rhine , district of Tan - Gebwiller , canton of Cerne ^[2] . Until March 2015, the commune in the canton of Serne was administratively part of the Tan County.

The area of the commune is 6.09 km², the population is 1314 people ^[3] ^[4] (2006) with an upward trend: 1356 people ^[5] (2012), the population density is 222.7 people / km².

In 2010, out of 814 people of working age (from 15 to 64 years), 611 were economically active , 203 inactive (activity indicator 75.1%, in 1999 - 70.1%).
