Mohammed Naji al-Otari ( Arabic محمد ناجي عطري ; born in 1944 in Aleppo ) - Syrian statesman, Prime Minister of Syria from September 10, 2003 to March 29, 2011 . He graduated from the Mechanical University of Aleppo in 1967 , the Amsterdam University of Architecture in 1972 . Entered into the Baath in 1966 . In 1983 he headed the city council of Aleppo. Since March 2000 - a member of the Central Committee of Baath . In March 2003, he was appointed Speaker of the People’s Council (Syrian Parliament), and in September of the same year he headed the government [1] [2] [3] .
