Scientific activity
He developed an integral concept of the methodology of cybernetics, which was reflected in research in collaboration and under the direction of A. I. Berg , and then continued in a doctoral dissertation, a series of articles, monographs (“Cybernetics in the humanities”, “Cybernetics and methodology of science”, “ Machine and creativity ”) and collective works (“ Cybernetics, thinking, life ”,“ Management, information, intelligence ”). [one]
The main area of scientific interests of B.V. Biryukov was logic and its history. He studied the logical and semantic works of G. Frege , which made it possible to explain the significance of the doctrine of “meaning and significance” and logical theory, as well as to understand the Fregean worldview, its assessment of the role of signs and calculus in cognition. [one]
Engaged in collaboration with A. Yu. Turovtseva and L.G. Biryukova, researching the methodological views of E. Schroeder and the brothers German and Robert Grassmanov, B.V. Biryukov was able to show the main features of their logical concepts. Together with V.N. Trostnikov B.V. Biryukov for the first time in the scientific literature of Russia presented a general exposition of the dynamics of world logical ideas against the backdrop of the development of computer science. [one]
Studying the philosophy of science and the relationship between deduction and heuristics, B.V. Biryukov was able to show how computer science can enrich the logical search for new things. He considered, in the light of the ideas of M.M. Novosyolov, the questions of scientific explanation in terms of the relations of paired opposites , which made it possible to clarify the properties of transitivity / non- transitivity of the explanation. When analyzing non-standard bio- and psychophysical phenomena, B.V. Biryukov formulated principles that made it possible to draw a line between “scientific / unscientific” in this area. [one]
Exploring together L. N. Landa didactic-cybernetic, logical-pedagogical and information-psychological questions, B. V. Biryukov introduced into scientific circulation and revealed the meaning of the concept of “prescriptive algorithmic type”. And while analyzing the concept of “human factor” in logic, he proposed the concept of “error of abstraction” as one of the postulates of mathematical logic and theory of algorithms . Subsequently, going to the theory of fuzzy sets by L. Zadeh , B.V. Biryukov in the first publications in Russian on this theory showed what role it played in understanding the logical and psychological process of decision making. B.V. Biryukov was the first in Russian literature to formalize the "logic of false statements." [one]
While studying the development of Russian logic at the end of the 19th - first two decades of the 20th century, B.V. Biryukov together with B.M. Shuranov introduced into the sociocultural field of the era of “wars and revolutions” the ideas of logical nonclassicality developing in it ( N.A. . I. Vvedensky , I. I. Lapshin and others), revealing along with this the main features of totalitarianism . Exploring the problems of reading, B.V. Biryukov, relying on specific historical material of the 20s. XX century managed to show a picture of the domestic “repressed book”. He also made sense of the contribution to science of his contemporaries such as A.I. Berg, M.G. Haase-Rapoport , S.N. Plotnikov, and S.A. Yanovskaya . [one]
