For the entire period of its existence, the division of the name did not change:
- 20th Air Defense Fighter Division;
- Military unit 06530.
Formation
The 20th Fighter Aviation Division was formed in October 1950 as part of the 78th Air Defense Fighter Corps of the 64th Air Defense Fighter Army at the airfield in Yelets .
Disbandment
The 20th Fighter Aviation Division, in accordance with the directive of the General Staff of the Air Defense Forces of the country, was disbanded as part of the 6th separate air defense army at the airfield of Gromovo, Leningrad Region in 1961.
