Biography
She has been a soloist of the Russian Ballet Monte Carlo troupe since the day it was founded. In the first season she used the name "Lanina". In 1932, Myasin staged Blinova’s part as a Girl in the ballet Children's Games - however, for the premiere, he decided to give it to Ryabushinskaya , while Blinova got the part of Volan .
Blinova, the prima ballerina of the troupe during the first tour of the Russian Ballet in Australia and New Zealand (1936-1937), where its main partners were dancers Leon Voytsikovsky , Igor Yushkevich and Valentin Froman . During the debut of the troupe in Australia on October 13, 1936 , she danced with Wojcikowski cancan in the " Magic Shop " of Myasin and was a great success. In the same year, she danced in Melbourne the main part in the Fokine "The Firebird ", renewed two years earlier with original costumes and decorations of 1910 - her performance received rave reviews.
During the move to Adelaide, Valentina broke up with the troupe's premier Valentin Froman - he was so furious that he first wanted to throw the ballerina overboard (which Voytsikovsky prevented him from doing), and then went to her cabin and threw out all the outfits, furs and jewelry of Blinova through the porthole [1] .
After the war, she studied in Paris in a studio with Olga Preobrazhenskaya [2] .
in her autobiography Dancing into the unknown, described Blinova as “charming; a sweet subretka with beautiful legs. ”
