Song Story
The composition "Frost on the skin" was dedicated to the city of St. Petersburg, as it is the hometown of Alexander Vasiliev. The first line of the song is a line from Osip Mandelstam's poem “Leningrad” - “I returned to my city, familiar to tears” [1] . The author expresses his recognition to his native city, introducing him as a living creature - “We are so alike, we look into each other’s eyes - and frost on our skin.” The song does not carry a huge semantic load, it does not need to read between the lines, the author sets out how he is in love with his city, but the composition turns out to be so deep that it catches the listeners, it really freezes the skin. That is why she is chosen as the first single of the album. The text consists of small pieces that form a single mosaic and draw the image of a cold Peter, a native of Alexander Vasiliev, to the listener. The lyrics are simple and figurative - therefore beautiful. She is such as Vasiliev knows how and loves to write, whose inspiration is fueled by Russian poetry of the Silver Age [2] . This song gave its name to the concert program shown at Crocus City Hall on December 14, 2013 [3] .
The recording was made at the Dobrolet studio, and Andrei Alyakrinsky acted as sound engineer. The single was released not only in digital form, but also on CD in a limited edition. Quarters of the handwritten text “Frost on the skin” were embedded in 4 CD-ROMs. Quarters owners were invited to find each other, put the text together, take a picture with him and send a photo to the group [4] .
Clip
A short time after the release of the single, the group shoots a clip. The premiere of the clip took place in December 2013. The video was directed by Alexander Kezzin. The video was taken by Fancy Shoot. Filming took place in St. Petersburg. The plot of the video is simple and concise: the leader of the group, Alexander Vasiliev, walks along the tunnel between the Kanonersky and Gutuevsky islands, after which he will join the rest of the Spleen musicians playing on the banks of the Neva Canal. The simple storyline is successfully compensated by the overall beautiful and quite mesmerizing atmosphere of the video. Autumn-winter night Petersburg with the final snowfall, the lights of the city and the desert tunnel leave a feeling of warmth and coziness after viewing. The city in the video is a separate acting character, and a peculiar flavor of the Northern capital plays a big role here [5] .
