Southern Denmark ( Dat. Syddanmark ) is an administrative region in Denmark , established on January 1, 2007 as part of the 2007 municipal reform, in which the traditional administrative units of the city were replaced by five large regions. At the same time, small municipalities were united into larger administrative units. The region includes 22 municipalities (communes).

It is located in the southern part of the Jutland peninsula , the islands of Funen , Langeland , Erö , etc. It includes the territory of the former amts of Funen , Ribe and Southern Jutland .
