Geography
Forest Lake is a reservoir of lagoon origin. It is located southeast of the village of Krasnogorsk in the west of Sakhalin , half a kilometer from the coast of the Tatar Strait . The lake has an oblong shape and stretches from west to east. The area of the mirror is 21.8 hectares. The average depth reaches 5 m, the maximum depth is 21 m.
The left tributary of the Black River (the Krasnogorka basin) flows through the lake.
Hydrology
The volume of the lake is 1176 thousand m³. The food is mixed, underground and atmospheric. Water without color and odor, hardness less than 1 mmol / l, mineralization 85 mg / l, transparency 120 cm. Chemical type of water is hydrocarbon-magnesium.
