According to the law of May 17, 2013 and the decree of February 21, 2014, the number of cantons in the Upper Rhine department decreased from 31 to 17. The new territorial division of departments into cantons came into force during the 2015 elections. After the reform, the canton was abolished [1] [2] . Communes transferred to the newly created canton of Saint-Louis .
