Biography

Born in the family of pianist Pavel Serebryakov .

In 1964, starred in the role of P. I. Tchaikovsky in the film “ Executed at Dawn ... ” [1] .

In 1966 he graduated from the Leningrad Conservatory in the class of opera and symphony conducting (class of People's Artist of the USSR E. A. Mravinsky ).

After graduating from the conservatory, he underwent a two-year internship at the Leningrad Philharmonic . Then for another two years he was an assistant to E. A. Mravinsky. He toured extensively throughout the USSR and abroad.

He collaborated with such soloists as M.I. Vaiman , B.L. Gutnikov , B.M. Davidovich , M. Maisky , M.L. Rostropovich , J. B. Pomier , M. Kh. Gantvarg , P. A. Serebryakov , G.L. Sokolov . Under his leadership, two ballets were staged at the Conservatory's opera studio - Ikar and Ravel ’s Bolero , and A. Kneifel ’s opera The Canterville Ghost. At the same time, he completed a two-year internship at the Bolshoi Theater of the USSR with a degree in ballet conductor under the guidance of A. ураuraitis .

From 1977 to 1987 he worked as a conductor of the Goskino Symphony Orchestra of the USSR (Moscow). Under his leadership, music was recorded for more than 300 feature and documentary films: among the most famous - " Sibiriada ", " A few days from the life of I. I. Oblomov ", " Tale of Wanderings ", " TASS is authorized to declare ... ", " Hot Summer in Kabul . ” He recorded a giant disc with the music of E. N. Artemyev for the movie “ Sibiriada ”, released in Paris by the company “Le Chant du Monde”.

Since 1963, he directed the Youth Chamber Orchestra at the School of Music at the Leningrad Conservatory and continued to lead it at the Conservatory. Some of the students who played in the orchestra later became prominent musicians: O. Martynova, M. Kh. Gantvarg , M. Maisky , B. M. Pergamenschikov , F. Hirschhorn , V. I. Stopichev .

Until 1977, he taught at the department of symphonic conducting. Among the students: R. E. Martynov , A. Lukoševičius, A. R. Paulavichus , E. Karasik, N. Alekseev.

He was buried in St. Petersburg on the Literary bridges of the Volkovsky cemetery .
