Story

When Dana (Morgan Sailor) still hasn't returned home, Brody ( Damien Lewis ) and Jessica ( Morena Baccarin ) argue over what to do. Brody insists that reporting the accident would jeopardize his mission with the CIA. Jessica tells him to break off relations with the CIA, but Brody screams after her that she can't do this. They are interrupted by a phone call from Mike ( Diego Clattenhoff ) informing that Dana has come to his house, so Jessica and Chris (Jackson Pace) leave to pick her up. Carrie ( Claire Danes ) is aware that Brody is late for a meeting with Roya ( Zuleika Robinson ), and enters his house when he finds Brody, almost catatonic, sitting on the floor in the hallway. Carrie sees that Brody gives in to pressure, and tells him that the ordeal is "almost over", and manages to get him to meet. However, when he sees Roya, Brody expresses his anger at being constantly ignorant of what is happening, finally telling Roya: “Enough is enough for me,” and he leaves. In an attempt to save the operation, Carrie hunts down Brody and takes him to a safe motel room.

Having slept at Mike’s home, Dana calls Jessica asking if she can sleep there. During the conversation, Dana also reveals that it was Carrie who intervened to stop her and Brody from reporting a police accident.

In the motel room, Brody seems a little relieved that he burned all his bridges with Abu Nazir, the CIA and his family. He put up with the fact that he would be imprisoned, but at least he could finally stop lying to everyone. Carrie tells Brody how if he adheres to the mission and completes it, he can become a “real hero,” and that all the bad things that he did will not matter, since all this would lead to the abduction of Abu Nazir. They then have sex, while Sol ( Mandy Patinkin ) and Quinn ( Rupert Friend ), who can hear everything through observation, listen with inconvenience to everything. Quinn wants to interrupt, claiming that Carrie's love for Brody hopelessly obscures her judgment. But Sol remains firm in that Carrie only cares about her agent and brings him back on board. Quinn recalls the team sent to capture Brody and Carrie.

The next day, Brody calls Roya, saying that he is under great pressure and may have said something that he should not have said, but he wants to go back. Later, Roya takes Brody to a distant place in the forest, while she is chased by some CIA cars, including Carrie, Virgil ( David Marciano ) and Max ( Mori Sterling ) in one of the cars. Waiting for Roy and Brody is the man ( Mido Hamada ) who led the attack on the tailor's shop in Gettysburg. Carrie immediately worries about Brody's life when she recognizes the man, and offers to capture the three conspirators right here and now. But Quinn insists that the operation continues. Brody is forcibly delivered to a clearing in the forest. Carrie follows on foot, reporting on what is happening to Saul and Quinn. The helicopter descends and picks up Brody.

Mike takes Dana to the house of Ines (Janette Dillon), the daughter of a woman killed in a collision with a car. Ines recognizes her from the hospital and quickly assumes that Dana was responsible for the murder of her mother. Dana repeatedly apologizes and says that she is trying to take responsibility, but Ines perceives her with hostility. When Dana mentions a possible contact with the police, Ines categorically protests, indicating that she will receive a payment in exchange for silence about the accident. Mike takes Dana home tonight. Dana cries in her mother’s arms that she feels like a killer.

Brody, brought in an unknown direction, finds himself face to face with the now dressed western-style, clean-shaven Abu Nazir ( Navid Negaban ) when the episode ends.
