Romanov, Nikolai Alexandrovich (artist)

Romanov Nikolai Alexandrovich was born on May 12, 1957 in the city of Pushkin (formerly Tsarskoye Selo) in the Leningrad Region. In 1980 he graduated from the Leningrad Art College. V. A. Serova , Department of restoration of easel painting. ^[1] Married to the artist Yu. V. Waltsefer .

In 1987, with a silver medal, he graduated from the painting department of the Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture. I. E. Repina , workshop of E. E. Moiseenko ^[2] .

Member (since 1990) of the St. Petersburg Union of Artists (until 1992 - Leningrad Organization of the Union of Artists of the RSFSR) in the painting section.

Since 1985, Romanov has participated in over 300 exhibitions in Russia and abroad.

More than 30 solo exhibitions took place in Russia and abroad. Among them are exhibitions in Piraeus (Greece, 1993); at the Consulate General of the Republic of Latvia in St. Petersburg (2002, 2003); in the gallery "Zamoskvorechye", Moscow (2002); in the art gallery "ARKA" St. Petersburg (2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2011, 2012 ^[3] ); in the Municipal Exhibition Hall of Collioure, France (2007); in the Gallery "Icons". Braga, Portugal (1992-1994, 2008, 2010); in the Museum-Apartment of I. I. Brodsky , St. Petersburg (2017), in the Gallery of the Lutheran Church “Air”, Pushkin (2017), etc. ^[4]

In 2000, Romanov was one of the initiators of the creation of the Workshop creative group, uniting the students of E. E. Moiseenko. The group’s first exhibition was held in Pskov and implemented projects over the next five years. ^[9]

In 2007, he was one of two Russian artists invited to participate in the festival dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Fauvism (Collioure, France). ^[ten]

N. A. Romanov is an active participant in the project “Reflection”, organized by the Cultural Foundation, the Russian Academy of Arts and the Creative Union of Artists of Russia (leader - N. S. Mikhalkov ) (2007-2009). The works of N. A. Romanov were used in the DesignPortrait Architectural Bureau project (St. Petersburg), which received two awards for the Inspired by Landscape project: "***** Best Interior Design Apartment Russia" and "Best Interior Design Apartment Europe" at the prestigious competition International Property Awards in London in 2012
