History

USHNITSY - the village of Ushnitsky rural society, parish of the village of Florovsky.
Peasant households - 47. Buildings - 213, including residential - 38. 5 windmills.
The number of inhabitants according to the family lists of 1879: 101 m. P.; according to the parish information of 1879: 105 m. p. [2]

At the end of the XIX - beginning of the XX centuries, the village administratively belonged to the Tesov volost of the 5th camp of the 3rd zemsky section of the Novgorod district of the Novgorod province .

According to a map from the “Historical Atlas of the St. Petersburg Province” of 1915, the village was called Ushnitsa and consisted of 36 peasant households ; there were two windmills in the village [4] .

From 1917 to 1927, the village of Ushnitsy was part of the Tesov volost of the Novgorod district of the Novgorod province.

Since 1927, as part of the Novo-Berezinsky Village Council of the Oredezhsky District .

In 1928, the population of the village of Ushnitsa was 279 people [5] .

According to 1933, the village of Ushnitsa was part of the Bereznovsky village council of the Oredezhsky district [6] .

From August 1, 1941 to January 31, 1944, the villages were under occupation.

Since 1959, as part of the Voloskovsky village council of the Luga region.

In 1965, the population of the village of Ushnitsa was 92 people [5] .

According to the data of 1966 and 1973, the village of Ushnitsa was also part of the Voloskovsky village council of the Luga region [7] [8] .

According to 1990, the village of Ushnitsa was part of the Yam-Tyosovsky village council [9] .

In 1997, 8 people lived in the Ushnitsy village of the Yam- Tyosov volost, in 2002, 19 people (all Russians) [10] [11] .

In 2007, 2 people lived in the village of Ushnitsy of the Yam-Tyosovsky joint venture , in 2010 - 5, in 2013 - 7 [12] [13] [14] .

Geography

The village is located in the eastern part of the district near the highway 41K-662 ( Oredezh - Tesovo-4 - Cholovo ) and the administrative border with the Novgorod region.

The distance to the administrative center of the settlement is 19 km [12] .

The distance to the nearest Cholovo railway station is 24 km [7] .

The village is located on the right bank of the Popovka River, a tributary of the Tyosova River.
