César Ferrando Jimenez ( Spanish: Cesar Ferrando Jimenez ; born July 25, 1959 , Tabernes de Valdigna ) is a Spanish footballer and football coach. He played as a midfielder, completed his playing career in 1991.

Player Career

Born in Tabernes de Valdigne , Valencia . Ferrando began his professional career at the local club Valencia , starting to play in the team double . The debut in the main team and in La Liga took place on April 26, 1981, Ferrando played the last minutes in the match against Las Palmas . The match ended with the score 3: 1 in favor of “Valencia” [1] .

After three full seasons with Valencia, Ferrando left in 1984 and continued to play professionally in Salamanca , Sabadelli and Alsira , who then performed mainly in Segunda . He ended his career in 1991 at the age of 32. His last club was Ontinyent from his home region [2] .

Coach Career

Ferrando began an amateur coaching career, with the local club UD Tabernes. In 1997, he began training Gandia , where he spent the next three years. In 2001, he brought the Valencia double to Segunda B.

Ferrando was appointed “ Albacete ” in the summer of 2002. In his first year of operation, he brought him to La Liga [3] and secured him from departure, which prompted the owners of Madrid Atletico to sign a contract with him [4] .

The season at Atlético was unsuccessful: the team finished only in 11th place. In May 2005, Ferrando was relieved of his duties [5] . He subsequently returned to his former team for two seasons of the second division [6] .

For most of the following years, Ferrando continued to work in the second tier of Spanish football, with Gimnastic from Tarragona [7] [8] and Elche [9] . In 2013, he went abroad, where he coached the Johor Malaysian club.

Personal life

The younger brothers Ferrando, Francisco (1962) and Juan Carlos (1965) were also footballers and midfielders.
