Biography and Political Career
He graduated from the Faculty of Water Engineering and Sanitation , having received in 1986 a master's degree in engineering [5] . Subsequently, he received graduate education at the Warsaw School of Economics , graduating by 1993 [5] .
He worked as a civil engineer; in 1990, after the collapse of the socialist system in Poland, became an independent contractor. In the same 1990, he was elected a member of the city council and a member of the municipal government of Pszczyna [2] , remaining in these posts for three cadences, until 1998.
In 1997, for the first time, he participated in the elections to the Polish Sejm from the coalition “ Electoral Action Solidarity ” ( Polish: Akcja Wyborcza Solidarność ), but about 5300 votes were not enough for him to pass.
In 1998, participating in regional elections, he became, with 8730 votes, a deputy of the regional parliament of the Silesian Voivodeship, and in November 1998 he became a bourmist of Pszczyna [2] .
In October 2001, he was elected to the Sejm of the Republic of Poland (4th convocation) for the first time, winning elections in District 27 of Bielsko-Biala from the Civic Platform party with 8862 votes cast for him [3] . He continued to represent this district until 2011 (in the sixth convocation) [4] . During this period, among other functions, was deputy. Chairman of the commission investigating the corruption of ex-minister and deputy Barbara Blida and her suicide in 2007, and also headed the “Civil Platform” faction in 2010-2011 [2] .
In the fall of 2011, he was elected to the Sejm of the 7th convocation from the same party in the district of 31 Katowice [5] . Throughout the cadence, at the same time as deputy duties, he worked as deputy minister of economy for energy, mining, gas and oil industry (later assigned to a ) [2] [6] . During this cadence was included in the "golden book of graduates" of the Polytechnic University. Kosciuszko.
At the end of October 2015, he was re-elected from Katowice to the Sejm of the 8th convocation [5] , but only a month after the election, on November 25, 2015, he was admitted to the hospital with a relapse of a long-standing kidney disease. Died three days after hospitalization, November 28, 2015 [2] .
